Rev. Livenson Lauvanus, the Supervising Pastor for the Lutheran Churches in Haiti, visited Living Waters a couple of months ago. Our church has pledged to provide Pastor Lauvanus the funds we raise so he can put aid in the hands of the survivors among the pastors and members of the Lutheran churches in Haiti. Instead of hiring another minister, Living Waters Lutheran Church, North Port, Fla., is looking for year-round guest pastors. The congregation bought a condo to provide free housing for one to two months for a pastor who is pursuing a sabbatical, taking a vacation, working on a dissertation, visiting relatives "or whatever." In return the guest pastor will lead worship one Sunday per month and share 15 hours of ministry a week.
